Lamb Meatballs with Minted Yogurt


Serves: 4

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking Time: 25 minutes


Ingredients:


For the Meatballs:


  • 500 g ground lamb

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


For the Minted Yogurt:


  • 1 cup Greek yogurt

  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste



INSTRUCTIONS

 

Step 1


Prepare the Meatballs:

  • In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  • Form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a walnut.erator.


Step 2


Cook the Meatballs:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs in batches, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes per batch.

  • Remove and drain on paper towels.


Step 3


Prepare the Minted Yogurt:

  • In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, mint, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well.


Step 4


Serve:

  • Arrange the meatballs on a platter, drizzle with minted yogurt, and garnish with extra fresh mint leaves.

  • Serve hot with warm pita bread or a fresh salad on the side.
